Project 365 for 2009
As part of my new year’s resolutions, I have decided to participate in Project 365, which means I need to take at least one picture a day. Two reasons compel me to do this:
I think looking back on something like this will be fascinating. In years to come, it will be something I will treasure and I look forward to being able to show the girls.
I want to use this project as a way to make me take more pictures. I also hope that I learn a thing or two by taking so many pictures. I generally take at least a dozen pictures for every picture I keep. Maybe, by the end of the year, I will take better pictures at a higher rate of frequency.
In the end, in addition to uploading the pictures to Flickr, I anticipate putting them all in a 12×12 photo album with 4×6 photo sleeves page protectors. I don’t plan to truly scrapbook the project, but I do want to include some commentary with each photo. I am going to try to make this as simple as possible to increase the likelihood that I will keep up with it. I hope that I can have something like this in the end (minus the kit; it’ll be a DIY job by me). It’s simpler than that looks, see? All I need to do is routinely (monthly?) print my pictures then slip them into the photo sleeves. And as long as I include a short description with each photo in the blog, I can easily create the commentary digitally and have it printed with the photos. Doesn’t sound too hard, does it?
I will promise you this about this project… my pictures will not be masterpieces nor will they be exceptionally creative. And most probably won’t even be interesting to anyone other than us. And depending on what I’m able to capture in a day, some might even be out of focus. <gasp> (that’s me gasping as I have a hard time posting blurry pictures) Just a warning to you.
Anyone else doing/attempting Project 365 this year?
